Maintenance and Clean up

General Maintenance

Throughout the fields, numerous piles of wood need to be split or cut up for mulch. All the fields whether they are fenced in or not need to be maintained. All gateways need to be improved to work on fields and fences will be moved to improve the use of these fields. Any fences that are on people’s boundaries will be moved to the most logical spot.

Immediate actions: We need to take stock of our resources to identify the best practices and produce plans for improvements and maintenance of our fields.

The three main hay fields require rehabilitation. The fields located across from Grandpa’s old house need to be cleared of brush, weeds, and trees. The same is true for the field on the northern property line
and next to the road. We need to continue clearing fields that need it and perform all the necessary maintenance, including brush hog, mowing, and plowing, to bring it back as either garden, pasture, and/or hay fields until we have more permanent ideas.
