Forest Road Farm History page
Click on the button below to read about a working farm for over 230 years!
The purpose of this webpage is to share information about ongoing family history or genealogy projects and ask for any input of stories or facts that will kept for the future. We will encourage other members to join in the research. I’m currently working on a
brief biography of Valentine and Anna Kopaskie using his will and other records to map out his ownership of differenct farms he owned.
– the location of the barn behind the house that burned down in the 1930’s,
– Is there was there a small ice house in the front yard near the lilac tree,
– the whereabouts of the smokehouse,
– whether there was a silo connected to the barn. We also want to
– learn about the stories of growing up on the farm,
– having chicken dinners for the whole extended family, and
– the type of chicken business that Mommy was running.
– Additionally, we want to learn about people’s experiences of growing up on the farm like milking cows, and bringing in hay.
– We need your help to collect and record all these stories and
questions.
If you can assist us, please click on contact, and sign up for the newsletter. The contact
and newsletters will keep you updated on our findings and progress on several
fronts. Through this process of sharing information reports, zoom meetings, and field trips to local cemeteries, locations can be arranged. Below are some useful links I found while researching our family history.
